God loves you when other people don't.

Hello hello! I don't know about you, but this past week for me has been hectic and tiring. I wanted this post to be a little less reading scripture and a little more motivational (but everything I said was based on scripture and still referenced. :) ) I hope it allows you to take a deep breath and be encouraged whether you're about to start your day or end it!

There's not much worse than feeling rejected. This feeling could come from rejection from a college, a job, or any type of relationship. It can lead to feeling like failure, being unloveable, or not enough. So, I want this post to be both a reminder that that thing or that person doesn't reflect the way that God feels about you, and also to encourage you that you are lovable and you are enough, because the God of all creation loves you and says you are.

An example that most of us can probably relate to is a bad friend. You know, the one who talks behind your back, the one who can easily make fun of you to your face, or the one who leaves you out pretty constantly. That simply isn't love. And I promise you, you deserve more than that. If someone treats you terribly, don't think that that's the way you are supposed to be treated. That isn't the love you deserve. Of course no one's love can amount to the love God has for you, but there should be some similarities. 1 Corinthians 13:4-5 describes love as patient and kind. It doesn't envy, boast, or self-seek. This is definitely the love of God, and should be the love you receive here on earth from other people. But obviously, even if we know we don't deserve it, it is still hurtful when we are mistreated. Jesus knows how this feels. He was hurt by all of his closest friends. Peter denied Him three times, Judas betrayed Him, and none of His disciples were there for Him when He died. The life that Jesus lived, even before He was crucified on the cross, shows God's love for us. I'm sure you know John 3:16, but God literally loves you so much that he put Jesus through this life of rejection and through a painful death, so you can spend eternity with Him. He loves you that much! God calls you His child, His friend, a masterpiece, a treasure, and His beloved. Replace these words with whatever other names other people or you have been saying about yourself that simply aren't true. Listen to what God says about you! It's the truth.
