To be honest, I haven't been keeping up with the Easter readings this week, and if you haven't that's totally okay. I want to provide something that can help you start thinking about Easter as it gets closer. I go to Grace Athens Church, and this past Sunday the pastor was challenging us to think about how we are supposed to be Jesus in this story. No, we could have never lived a perfect life and saved anyone, but because Jesus was that person, we are brought from dead to life just like Him. My church is actually providing baptisms for people this Sunday, and I think that's such a cool symbolism on Easter. So, this Easter I want to think about how has Jesus brought me from death to life in my life. Maybe you can think about this too! Here are some verses to get you to start thinking:
Psalm 49:15- "But God will redeem my life from the grave; he will surely take me to himself."
1 Corinthians 15:21-22- "For since death came through a man, the resurrection of the dead also comes through a man. For as in Adam all die, so in Christ all will be made alive."
Ephesians 2:4-7- "But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ—by grace you have been saved— and raised us up with him and seated us with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, so that in the coming ages he might show the immeasurable riches of his grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.
John 5:24- "Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life. He does not come into judgment, but has passed from death to life."
All of these verses are examples of how we are made alive in Christ. If one of them stuck out to you, maybe you can use it to reflect up until Easter on how God has been working in your life. You can thank Him for the cross and how it personally affects your life. I hope y'all have a great week, and I hope this helped set your minds on Easter as it gets closer!
